I do not know the exact theological reason that ministers use words like Reverend and Right Reverend and Father and all the rest, but as a matter of personal experience I find those who call themselves "Pastor" to be the better people.
Ministers who refer to themselves as "pastor" tend to be very forgiving people, whereas the rest tend to lack humility and are pedantic to the point of viciousness.

Bob, You raise a valid point and I’ve also noticed that Pastors tend to be more forgiving and somewhat more Bible-based in their thinking. I feel it’s because the titles of Rabbi or Father aren’t really acceptable: Matthew 23:8-9; “Be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”
We’re also not allowed to reverence man over God ( Psalm 89:7, Mark 12:6 & Hebrews 12:28 ) yet the terms of “Pastor” or teacher are both considered to be Biblically-correct: Ephesians 4:11; “He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers.”
Jer 3:15; “I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
…at least that’s my thoughts on the matter.
Great comment!

Preacher is an acceptable title.
Solomon considered himself to be one; "The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem (Ecc 1:1)."
Noah was also a Preacher; "[God] spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly (2Pe 2:5)."
As was Paul; "Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity (1Ti 2:7)."

I found so much information on CI from this forum. I am so excited about CI. The more I learn the more I believe that CI is the only religion that truly pleases God.
I been listening to Preachers as Dr. Bertrand L. Comparet, and Dr. Wesley A. Swift, and Dr. William G. Finlay, and of course Pastor Jeromy Visser.
I thank God for all these men and for helping me to find this forum without it I wouldn't have found my way.
